Celebrate spring in the Garden of the Hesperiden/ Hof van Wouw on Wednesday 11+18 April 2012

On Wednesday 11 and 18 April you can enjoy the sweet smelling spring bloom in The Garden of the Hesperiden. This very special flower and vegetable garden that belongs to the 17th century almshouse of the Hof van Wouw offers an oasis of quiet and beauty in the middle of downtown Den Haag. In the garden, which is mainly kept by  a team of enthusiastic volunteers, grows a variety of old fruit sorts like citrus trees ,fig-, walnut-. horse chestnut-, pear- and plum trees. There is also a great variety of long forgotten herbs and vegetables.Of course you can also admire the beautiful tulips and daffodils.

Entrance: 1 EUR p/p. If you are in possession of a Hof Pas entrance is free. On the terrace under the marquee you can obtain refreshments. Coffee/tea and cold drinks (1 EUR) or a glass of wine (2EUR) will be available. All proceeds will be for the upkeep of the garden.

The entrance to the garden is Brouwersgracht 30, Den Haag (alleyway between no.24 en the red letter box). Public transport: tram no 2, 3, or 6. Parking: the tram tunnel Prinsengracht/Brouwersgracht.
