 PROGRAMme hof- AnD GARDENdaYS 2009  

The  17th century private almshouses ‘Hof Van Wouw’ and her Residents invite the public to have a glimpse into this unique oasis of quietness and beauty, right in the middle of the busy city of The Hague.

During the ‘Hof- and Garden days’ lectures are being held and activities organized around seasonal themes. The visitor can participate in a guided tour along the well conserved, and still in accordance with the will of Cornelia van Wouw from 1647 inhabited, almshouses. It also includes the Garden of the Hesperides, which is characterized by many beautiful orange trees in tubs.

The visit to the more than 360 years old House of Trustees is always part of the tour.

 

The  programme of the Hof- en Garden days in 2009:

- Saturday 6th of June: Garden day  

- Saturday 22th of August: ‘Oranges Day’

- Saturday  12th of September: open Monuments day

- Saturday 12th of December: Christmas in the ‘Hof’ with Christmas Carols singing

- December Christmas Arrangements (on reservation)

During the ‘Hof- and Garden Days’, for which an entrance fee will be asked, stalls with coffee, tea en light refreshments, like homemade apple-pie will be arranged. Some homemade products, most of them from our own gardens, can be purchased.

There will also be a stall with books on the history of The Hague.

The proceeds will be used for the preservation of the monumental almshouses and the garden.
